iCarly Producer uses Twitter to bring fans inside the hit show

Dan Schneider, the Executive Producer of wildly popular and award-winning Nickelodeon show “iCarly” is using New Media to give fans sneak peeks inside the day to day production of the show. If you’ve watched TV News or entertainment magazine shows, you know that Twitter is the new hot “Tech Phenomenon,” but Dan was a Twitter fan before all the hype.
Being a Twitter addict ( http://twitter.com/roneyzone ), I’ve seen a lot of entertainment entities using Twitter, but Dan uses it best. It’s not just, “Watch the show, Watch the show”. He is a fan of his own show and a fan of the fans. It is very refreshing to see and a lot of fun to follow. Dan not only posts messages about the show, he posts pictures during rehearsals, table reads, and even filming. Many of his posts and pics give clues to upcoming episodes, and he intersperses them with candid shots of the cast and crew during downtime. It’s cool to see it all come together. And then to add to that, he polls the fans for ideas and opinions about the show, then he invites the fans to ask him questions through a blog post, using Twitter to point fans to the site. Dan, thank you for using a fantastic micro-blogging tool extremely well.
