RoneyZone Radio #115 Jeff interviews internet star, Kelly G

Posted by admin on May 6, 2009 under RoneyZone Radio | 13 Comments to Read

We catch up with a very cool, interesting, Canadian lady who lifts people (but that’s not all), and shares her life on the internet. She makes videos, is a blossoming stand-up comic, and wants to make people smile in these tough times. Interviewing Kelly G was another moment that I will remember for a long time, because I feel that she will go very far, and she is such a great person. Enjoy the interview, and be sure to follow her great work.

Casting Call for Costumed Actors/Actresses in OC/LA Area

Posted by admin on May 4, 2009 under Casting Calls | Be the First to Comment

Project Title: Superheros Now

Premise: What would superheros live like in 2009 in America?

Genre: Comedy, Satire, Spoof. Similar to the Office.

Pay: None. There is no pay offered at all. I will offer free publicity and exposure for you in return for your acting.

Overview: These short films would be a way for CosPlay, Costume enthusiasts to expand their visibility beyond conventions to the visitors of YouTube. Some can be monologues, or ensemble casts with other superheros, as well.

Date(s):
Flexible. Throughout the Summer. Weekends or Holidays.

What I need;

Male and Female costume enthusiasts that are actors/actresses as well. This will be a very organic filming process. Based on the actor/actress, it can be fully scripted, or a premise can evolve as it is rehearsed or filmed. Adlib and stand up comedy chops (of any level) a huge plus, but not required. I might need a location or two that can be used for filming.

I could also use crew, consulting folks who have done it before to give me moral support, advice, etc.

I live in Orange County, but can commute to the Los Angeles area to film. I have no money for permits, so guerrilla filmmaking will be the name of the game. There are nice spots in my surrounding neighborhood to film, as well. I do not have a huge lighting rig, or huge cameras, and lots of equipment. HD Quality isn’t necessarily what I’m going for, I’m going for the look and acting talent to deliver the comedic content.

Example: One idea I had was Wonder Woman in her kitchen making coffee. She can’t find the creamer, and her roommate, Aqua Man left a reminder note to buy Creamer next trip to the store. Wonder Woman talks about how tough it is to be a superhero in 2009; Obama is handling everything, She gets bored – too much Facebook, She has to get her invisible jet retrofitted to be hybrid, etc.

That’s the gist of what I’d like to do. The actual characters aren’t as important as the comedic points.

I know that we are all busy, but I’ve got; 1. Very funny ideas, 2. A camera, 3. Some spare time, but I need-

you.

I travel quite a bit for work, so getting our schedules to mesh may take a bit of time, but I want to do this, and so I have to try. This is my first effort.

Last point: This is my first real jump into a casted short film. Here are my videos, thus far:
