We continue our interview Doug Rapson, the host of Geek Acres. We talk about opportunities that using podcasting and Social Media can help you make friends and perhaps help others, what Geek Acres is, iPhone geekery, Twitter, the evil and good of TwitPic and the future of Tech. Be warned: Jeff goes off on a religious tangent toward the end.
You take your time to build a site, write a blog, record and release podcasts or videos, but no one is visiting/reading/listening/watching. We have the answer;
1. Put your url in your signature line for your email, message boards, Twitter profiles, etc.
2. Use Twitter and Facebook to extend your reach beyond Search Engines.
3. Carry business cards with you often, and hand out to as many people as you feel might benefit from what you do.
4. Create a youtube video of a wider audience subject (I was very lucky in this case), and use Windows Movie Maker to include your url:
5. Record intros for interested podcasts, “Hi, this is (your name) from the (your podcast), and you are listening to the (podcast you are recording the intro for)”. Feature another blog on your blog, or feature another vlogger on your vlog.
What other ways can you think of? Leave some comments. Thanks.
