My Mother-in-Law Needs a Kidney

Hello. You may or may not know me, but my name is Jeff Roney. I do New Media stuff, and some comedy writing and performing, but this is no laughing matter. My Mother-in-Law needs a kidney. That’s really the long and the short of it.

Her name is Jeanne, and here is an excerpt of an email that was sent to the members of her church:

“Jeanne R. attends Crossline and you usually see her smiling face at the Information Booth. She has a medical need and we wanted to put that need before you. She only has one kidney and that kidney is
operating at 8 percent. She will be needing dialysis very soon. She is looking for possible donors to donate a kidney to her. She need’s people who are healthy and have O positive blood. Anyone who would be willing to be tested please contact Lynette at USC University Hospital at 323-442-9086. They need to say that they would like to be tested for Jeanne Robinson. They would be covered by her health insurance which is Health Net, but they have to be approved first. The first step though is calling Lynette to be tested.

I understand using the world-wide internet for a local situation may seem a bit overboard, but I am hoping for one of two things;

1. To find a kidney match, or
2. Find a site, messageboard, online community or other way (TV Station, etc) to get the word out further to find a kidney match.

I know these are tough times, and I know there are many concerns surrounding an operation of this kind, concerns about money (travel,etc), post op care, etc, but I wanted to do something. I believe in God. I believe in prayer (I thank the many that are praying), but I also believe that God works through people, doctors, and yes, even through the internet to complete His Will, sometimes.

So, if you meet the criteria listed above, and are interested and willing, please call the number above as soon as you can.

If you have a suggestion, site or place we can check/use further for a match, please email me:

I thank you for your time. Jeff
